Leading Bravely: When Life Breaks You Open

Leading Bravely is a book, a philosophy, and an invitation.

It was born from lived experience—loss, illness, leadership, motherhood, and profound transition—and shaped by the question that life kept asking me:

Whom am I becoming now?

This work is for those who have been changed by life and are learning how to lead—from the inside out.

About the Book

Leading Bravely blends personal narrative with reflective leadership insight. It is not a traditional memoir, nor is it prescriptive self-help. Instead, it is a contemplative exploration of what it means to live, lead, and choose courage when certainty dissolves.

Through stories of grief, healing, identity, and resilience, the book explores themes such as:

  • Becoming after loss

  • Integrity and equity in leadership

  • The wisdom of the body

  • Surrender, meaning-making, and renewal

  • Leading with presence rather than performance

At its heart, Leading Bravely asks us to consider a different kind of leadership—one rooted in truth, compassion, and the courage to be fully human.

Who This Is For

This book is for:

  • Women navigating change, loss, or reinvention

  • Leaders who want to lead with integrity rather than ego

  • Educators, creatives, caregivers, and change-makers

  • Anyone who senses that life is asking them to become someone new

You do not need a title to be a leader.

You only need the willingness to listen to your life.

Beyond the Book

Leading Bravely extends beyond the page.

The ideas and reflections in this book live on through:

  • Coaching and retreats offered through Spirit, Sand & Sea

  • Creative practice and visual storytelling through Rosanna Maria Studio

  • Writing, talks, and community conversations centered on courage, meaning, and becoming

Each offering is an expression of the same core belief:

The parts of us shaped by hardship can become our greatest sources of wisdom and strength.

A Note from Rosanna

I did not write this book to teach from a pedestal.
I wrote it from inside the questions.

My hope is that Leading Bravely meets you where you are

—and offers language, reflection, and companionship as you listen for what your own life is asking of you next.
